Recently, Professor Kim visited Zambia and he took time to visit JC. At JC, Professor Kim held discussions with Rev. Pukuta Mwanza the Church Mobilization Manager and Pastor Temfwe. JC wanted to learn from Dr. Kim how it can benefit from the Institute for Biblical Community Development which Dr. Kim heads at the University as JC seeks to develop its church mobilization program. Dr. Kim wanted to hear testimonies and lessons learnt from the JC church mobilization program.
Later Dr. Kim visited Chifubu and encouraged 15 pastors who are in the church mobilization program. Sharing from Genesis 1:28
and from Jeremiah 29:4-11
, he stated, “Unless we know God in a genuine way it is very difficult to respond to the brokenness of our community.” He further stated that the call of the church is not only to deal with religious brokenness but holistic brokenness. He concluded, “In my short
time of stay here I have seen a lot of things that have been abandoned which need fixing. No problem is too big for God.” He encouraged the pastors to remain fervent in their prayer lifestyle.

Pastor Nickson Phiri of Apostolic Revival Church in his response thanked Dr. Kim for the timely word of encouragement. “Previously our church business was only focused in fixing sins of individuals. However, we now know that God is interested in fixing everything that we have broken as a result of greed, laziness and selfishness. God is interested in fixing malaria, HIV/AIDS, orphans and vulnerable children, environment and unemployment.” Bishop Chris Mubanga told Dr. Kim, “Your passion for appropriate technology would be a great help for us because we too are involved in holistic biblical response especially to end poverty.” In his last words Dr. Kim said, “I hope this is the beginning of a relationship.”
