JUBILEE DONATES NEW SHOES TO 200 OVC’S

Jubilee Centre February 29th, 2008

In January and February 2008 Jubilee Centre has donated new pairs of shoes costing almost $5000 to 200 school going orphans and vulnerable children. The children were selected from Munkulungwe in Ndola rural and from Chifubu and Mapalo area just outside the city centre of Ndola.

In Munkulungwe the 80 children came from Baptist church, Church of Christ and Assemblies of God.  Some children said that they go to school bare footed and some with worn out shoes and that their friends with better shoes laughed at them. Several children who received the shoes said they were putting on a new shoe for the first-time in many years. Sheila a beautiful  girl with an innocent smile on her face and who is in grade ten said, "The last time I put on new shoes was in grade five and this is five years ago." Pastor Willie  Chabala  of Munkulungwe Church of Christ said, "What is happening has never happened in this community. This is God showing us how to preach the gospel in word and deed. The church in Mukulungwe will never be the same again." Pastor Jim Liske from Ridge Point Church in USA whose church provided the finances for shoes said, "We so the need and saw that we could help the orphans with shoes as a gift". He urged the church to persevere and to remain faithful to God because God knows their needs and is well able to provide.

"We thank God for your kindness. Be assured that we will study hard and when our time comes to lead we will make a difference in our nation to the glory of God."

Mr. Ray Zulu who is a blind man with a child Ray who is being sponsored to school by JC said that he is a happy parent because he has seen the hand of provision from God. He said, "Thanks be to God for putting a smile on my son."
