Pastors deepen the understanding on church building on leadership through the book of Nehemiah.                                                                                                                                                           JC is bringing radical challenge to the churches and to Christians to go beyond personal salvation-to building communities that reflect biblical principles. Recently Jubilee Centre held three days workshops for pastors in Chifubu and Mapalo on “Fixing that which is broken” The featured speaker was Pastor Jim Liske and his Team from Ridge Point Community church in USA. Sixty leaders in Chifubu attended the workshop. In Mapalo 48 leaders attended.

Pastor Liske led the participants through the book of Nehemiah helping them to see that biblical faith has impact on all areas of our lives. At the end of the workshops the pastors and other leaders where deepened in their understanding of what integral mission means in their context, especially in the area of responding to HIV/AIDS and to orphans and vulnerable children. The training is a follow up of what JC is doing in motivating the church in the poor community to reinvent itself and move its members into the community with influence.

Chibuluma Church Mobilisation Workshop                                                                                             Jubilee Centre conducted a two days workshop in Chibuluma on 18th – 19th February 2008. The aim of the Chibuluma workshopworkshop was to empower churches to engage with their people living in economic poverty in order to bring about spiritual and material transformation. Subjects covered included the link between integral mission and church growth; holistic salvation; the role of the church in poverty reduction. Twenty-eight church leaders attended the workshop. Elder Sichone speaking on behalf of other participants said “We were blind but now we can see. The knowledge we have acquired is useful and it has changed the way we think about the church and about evangelism and discipleship.“

Jubilee Centre Donates to the under privileged in Munkulungwe                                                  Through the support of Ridge Point church in the USA JC purchased eighty pairs of shoes that were passed on the under privileged children at Munkulungwe . The church leaders identified the children. On Munkulungwe Beneficiries. hand to see the hand over ceremony that was captured on nation television was Pastor Liske from Ridgepoint Community Church

The 80 children who received the shoes had no words to say as they were overwhelmed to experience such generosity. Host pastor, Willie Chabala said, “We do preach about God’s concern for the needy. Today our people have practically seen what we mean. We have children who could not go to school because their friends laughed at them for not having shoes. Come Monday they will be in school, the Lord be Praised.” The Children who received the shoes with surprise gave thanks and said no one has ever bought them shoes at once.

Transform Team                                                                                                                                            From 15th – 26th January 2008, Jubilee Centre hosted the Transform Team from U.K. The Team participated in many programmes in churches that JC is serving.
